So many of my crafty ideas come from Pinterest, so I thought I would compare some of my holiday creations with my original inspiration...all of these can be found on my Chirstmas Board, but if you click on the links it will take you to the original post.
This was such a fun project-it brought back memories of making paper chains as a child...I took it up a notch with some festive scrapbooking paper and used diaper boxes for the cardboard. I just peeled off the labels to expose the corrugated part-it was a bit time consuming, but Gray was a big helper!
I could only find one size of foam cylinders so I cut one down a bit with a bread knife. The I hot glued the start of my yarn at the bottom and started wrapping. For some reason, it's kind of therapeutic to wrap yarn...I can see why people knit. I just wanted something simple so I topped them off with some Christmas ornaments, hot gluing them over top of the end of the yarn to hold it in place.
I've done this previously with ribbon and this year went a little bit more rustic using twine in place of the ribbon. This is the second year that I have incorporated turquoise into my holiday color scheme and I love it! Kinda ties into the whole 'life with boys' theme!
Has anyone seen the tutorial to make felted balls? I don't know about you but it looks like it would take a long time to create agarland! So I went to the dollar store and found packages of pom pom ball thingy's, strung them together with thread and voila! Cheap and much more time efficient!
