I confess...

Sure my blog is pretty and my posts are generally on the positive side. I would ever only post a photo of myself that I feel represents me on my BEST day, as in, I took an hour to get ready, wash, blowdry, straighten my hair. I put on makeup and destroyed my room tyring to find the perfect outfit to wear.

Often I will come across a blog and fall in love with the asthetic of it and once I dig a little deeper I find that the person behind the blog is just as beautiful too. I wonder how much of it is true?

Because the person I described above certainly isn't the real me. The real me hasn't had a haircut for 3 months and I have a box (yes, sadly a box!) of hair dye sitting in my bathroom just begging me to use it.

This is the real me. All my gray hairs....

And all my post pregnancy baby hairs growing back that give me the fuzzy hair look...

My nailpolish that is chipped and has seen better days...

The real me means I went to the park today with greasy hair, yoga pants and no makeup on. I busted my ass for 20 minutes to a Jillian Michaels (45 minute-I could barely do 20!) DVD. I cleaned the toliet while my two year old ate breakfast at 8am this morning. My shirt has snot all over the shoulder cause Westyn has a runny nose.
Yep, that's my life. Yet, I can still sit here and make things pretty on my blog. I guess it kind of gives me a break from the not so pretty!

Check out this post over at Babble...it's pretty fabulous....it's about what moms did with their time before kids.

Some other confessions:

I like reassurance. I won't ask for it and I am not someone that flat out says how good I am at something. I would like to be able to do that, but just can't. But I totally love it when someone tells me I rock! Little ego boosts never hurt do they?!

I used to be 10 minutes early for everything...now I stroll in at the exact minute I'm supposed to, if not later. Two kids will do that to you.

I think I have split personality disorder or some other issue. Because one second I could be raging mad and the next minute I can be fine.

I do not adapt easily to change. Ten years ago, I had no problem, now I loathe change.

I am pretty quiet when I meet new people. Which is why I am glad my husband is a bit more 'out there' or we would be hermits all the time!

I have a folder in my favorites file of cool blogs that I have found along the way that I want to visit, and I will probably never have time to do it.

Ah! Great post! I am so much the same way. I only wash my hair like once every four days, so I wear it up pretty much every single day so it looks more "crazy messy" rather than greasy and gross. I used to be outgoing and spontaneous and into constant change, and now I can't stand any of it!

And I'm just on time or late for everything too. Ha ha ha!

Love your confessions. I looked like a hot mess at the park today. Thankfully it was so cold we were the only ones there.

I use to arrive early before kids. Now I pack everything up the night before and we're still late. With winter coming we'll never make it anywhere.

This is a GREAT post!!! Life always looks perfect on the blog, but life isn't always perfect. It is good to embrace the messiness we have sometimes!! :)

I love this so much. I think all of us see us in this post 100%. My husband called me Spike when my baby hairs came back in... I tried every kind of hairspray to get them to lay down.

I don't comment often - but I love your blog.
