So the demo of our kitchen began this past Friday night. The plan was to start ripping the kitchen out and remove the ceiling in the sunroom-which had leaked awhile ago. The kitchen end of things went fairly smoothly.

Our surprise |
So we were going to try and find the leak in the sunroom ceiling, repair it, patch up the drywall and be done. Well...our house is over 50 years old...and we found a 50 year old problem....
ROT. A LOT. HOLES BIG ENOUGH TO FIT YOUR HEAD IN.
So obviously we were a little taken back by what we found. It is pretty much out of our league. And pretty much guaranteed to cost a pretty penny or two. Pennies we don't have. So if you'd like to donate........no seriously. Insert tears [here].......
On the bright side part of our kitchen went in today.

YIKES! That is rough! Aren't good surprises so much better?
Oh wow, that's awful! I hope that the repairs end up costing less than the estimates =(
Aaack I'm so sorry about your sunroom. Unexpected surprises in an old house are almost never good :(
I'm so excited for the big reveal!
