Construction Birthday Party

Warning-You are now entering a very dangerously overloaded blog post about my 3 year olds Construction Birthday Party!

This party was oodles of fun to create! From the cake to the signs to the table runner road. Gray loved every single thing...and we all had a blast!

Easy peasy table runner made out of charcoal and yellow felt...I didn't even glue it together, just threw some packing tape into the back to secure the sections together!

You may remember this PIN from my Balloon-Love's on a Thursday...these water balloon ice packs were a hit, but most of the balloons burst, leaving lots of pieces floating in the melted ice...whatev's, I was ok with it.

The coolest creation ever! I found these yellow (how perfect!) cups at Walmart...you peel off the label and scratch your name on them...my 6 year old niece helped write spoons and forks on the cutlery cup holders...so cute!

Last minute table weights...pylons from the dollar store tied with yarn!

These bubbles are the perfect party favour! Cheap and everyone loves them-including adults! ;)

I loved making this cake, and after the incident with Westyn's cake, I decided it was best if I make this one. That way if something went wrong, I could fix it, but everything went so smoothly...even had enough batter for a few cupcakes-in love with the yellow icing-so bright and happy!

The birthday boy! I totally forgot to get a photo of all the kids in their constructions hats (another party favour), oh well....

Grayson's best friend...no seriously, they are the best of friends, too cute for someone who is only 3 years old!

He got a big boy bike for his birthday, of course Westyn wanted in on the action!

And what party isn't complete without balloons!

What great ideas. I love looking at other people's parties. You had such great ideas here. The cake is great. Love the little tags on the bubbles. Clever to put water balloons with the sodas. Great work.

You have given me a fantastic idea for my nephew's next birthday - thanks.

I found this via the Create & Inspire party. I have linked in a pork and apple curry.
Have a great week.

Lish,
This construction theme is absolutely adorable! I love the signs, the cake (!), and the simplicity of the decor, so it is very do-able. Your son looked like he had a fab time.

I've posted a link to Construction Birthday Party on my blog, The Birthday Wall, where I share party tips and inspiring birthday stories. You're welcome to check it out: http://thebirthdaywall.blogspot.com/2012/07/caution-construction-ahead.html

I have kept a fun tradition for my daughters, creating a visual, colorful collage on the wall to celebrate their special day.

Thanks for sharing the fun and colorful aspects of your son's birthday party.

Be refreshed,

Wow! What an amazing theme! What makes it even more amazing is that you were able to make use of an uncommon theme and make it even more fun! The cake you made is perfect, and it looks very delicious. How did you come up with this idea? I’m sure they all had fun here!

@carlene thanks so much! My son is a huge fan of diggers and I saw a cake once in my travels with a digger on it.. The theme just grew from there !

Wow! This is actually the first time I’ve seen a birthday party without choosing a certain cartoon character as the theme. Cool! It’s nice to see something different in events like these every once in a while. The construction theme is exceptional. And the kids all loved it! =DDD

Wow!! Lovely themed birthday party. I really loved it especially the preparations. Everything is done according to the theme. I will also arrange my daughter’s birthday party soon after my sister’s wedding at one of Los Angeles wedding venues. Will look for a best theme.
