Scavenger Hunt Sunday-Textures

Wow, it's been so long since I linked up with Ashley for Scavenger Hunt Sunday! I got a little incentive from Sarah last week, and was reminded about how much I loved participating in it. So this week I dusted off my camera and jumped right in! To confess, I haven't been taking many photos lately. it's winter, it's drab, it's cold, it's blah...so it's inspiring to look at everyday things a little differently when trying to fill the weekly prompts that are given. This weeks prompts were...

Lace-I just so happen to be working on a few projects with lace...so whatdyaknow...

Bling- The only bling that gets worn daily lately other then my rings, my sequin slippers from Old Navy that were $10! They are fur lined!

Wood-A close up of a 'new' {old} rustic dresser that is now in my office.

Fuzzy- A rocking horse tail...

Fabric-I have an overwhelming amount of fabric, here is just one pile of scraps...

P.S Voting ends for the Top 25 Creative Blogs in 3 days on Jan. 30 at 4pm PST!! Scavenger Hunt & Sunday Confessions

Again, it's been far too long since my last Scavenger Hunt & Confession, I'd love to combine the two every week, but let's face it, sometimes I'm not the kind of person to stick to something (confession number 1!) My confessions today deal with learning and parenting...

Simple
This is the first afternoon nap in a week and a half that Gray has had. So what if he slept on the couch while watching TV, at least he slept! Confessions #2- I probably let me kids watch too much TV! But wouldn't life be wonderful if I could take a simple little nap in the afternoon?!

Grain
#3 I'm slowly learning to be more patient and forgiving. To laugh over accidents and not jump to conclusions.

Transportation
#4 Dinky cars will be the death of me...ohhh...they hurt so much!!!

Stitch
#5 I remember my mom making tons of clothes for me when I was little. I wish I could do the same for my kids. But for some reason it's so much more fun making dresses then pants. And I don't think that little boys are into wearing dresses...my secret confession is that I would love to have a little girl to dress up!

Bubbles
#6 I'm learning that if I let go for a minute, I can actually have fun when a mess is involved. Like these purple bubbles (thanks mom!), they were an awful mess, but you know what, Gray did an amazing job at not making too much of a mess (although with me looking over his should every second-he really didn't have a chance too )

and then, she {snapped}

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Sunset
Luckily I had my camera with me on a drive back home one evening. The colors were magnificant!

Black and White
The old wheel in our backyard.

A Day in My Life & Four
I cheated a bit with this one! I combined 'A Day in My Life' with 'Four'...so the appropriate prompt would be Four pics of a Day in My Life! Hehe!
Colorful

I've been wanting to do these super cool Melted Crayon Hearts for awhile, I finally did and they turned out really cool! Watch for the tutorial coming this week!

Oh, and don't forget about the return of Frivolous Friday's this coming Friday! Link up your 'Capture the Moment-Me Time' photography!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

WOWZA! It's been awhile since I've done one of these...let's see what I found this week.

Stacked Up
The boxes that kept piling up as we were packing up our kitchen.

 Winter Wonderland
The snow finally arrived this weekend!!

Sweet
Any photo of this little dude could be title 'sweet' cause he is!!!

Hole
I actually had an afternoon to myself, so I went on a little (20 minute-it was brrrr) walk and on my journey found a seashell....with a hole in it. I could've used this hole, but it was too depressing to look at it again.

Frozen
Yep, it's winter!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I've participated in Scavenger Hunt Sunday! I seriously love these challenges...so here are my finds for the week!

Portrait

What can I say? This kid is cute.

Nostalgic
This was taken at my husbands work Christmas Party for the kids. It totally brings back memories of sitting on Santa's knee at my Dad's work Chritmas party.

Time
This means time in so many ways. Its about time that it's being done. It's time that we say good bye to our hideous kitchen. Goodbye ugly backsplash and old facet-it's time to go! More on our kitchen later in the week!

Full of Light
I think I'm getting the hang of bokeh.

Motion

When Westyn is super excited, his arms fly around like crazy! Cute!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Macro/Close-Up
I can't get enough of my little mans eyes, his eyelashes too..seriously I have no idea where he get his lashes-they are gorgeous!

Found Texture
In the spirit of Halloween-a pumpkin!

Home
Home is where my slippers are-perfect for chilly mornings and cold nights!

Cover
There they are...all covered in their tent over the dining room table...perfect rainy day fun! As I've mentioned in previous posts, it's been raining A LOT!

 Tree (Kent Weakley)
Not a new one-you saw this a couple weeks back-I just didn't have time to go snooping for 'my' tree, but this one is close-kinda?

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

This weeks prompts were tough...I found them difficult with the rainy weather and with my two year old missing in action for most of the week. I was uninspired to pick up my camera and I dunno...some of these were taken a few weeks back, but never shared, so does that count?

Abstract

Gray's spinning top...Mike had to spin it, for some reason I can't get that sucker to spin!!

Round

The old windmill beside the railway tracks on our Thanksgiving walk last weekend.
Photography love...

Fire

From our many campfires this summer. I know I could've lite a candle and took a picture, but this one is so much better!

Seeing Faces in Strange Places

This one was HARD! I wa dying to get one of those shots with a face shape in the clouds...after 6 days of looking at the sky, I got desperate..but I think this one turned out really well! Laundry baskets are wonderful things!

Stars
The star night light in my sons room.
